FAQS

  • It is important to find a therapist who is the right fit for you. I offer a free 15 minute consultation for potential new clients so we can get a sense of what it would be like to work together.

  • I am not in-network with any insurance companies. Insurance companies require a DSM diagnosis in order to reimburse for sessions. If you elect to submit for out-of-network insurance reimbursement, we will have a discussion about an appropriate diagnosis before I add that to your file. I will never give a diagnosis without discussing it with you first.

Most of my clients elect to submit for out-of-network insurance reimbursement with a Superbill I provide each month and on average receive 80% back per session. Whether or not you are reimbursed and the amount you are reimbursed for depends upon your plan. I suggest investigating this prior to scheduling with me. To find out more, when you call your insurance company ask what they reimburse for the following CPT billing codes: 90791 (initial appointment) and 90837 (hour session) CPT codes to gauge what you’re out of pocket investment will be.

  • The initial intake session is $225. Subsequent 50 minute sessions are $185.

Payment is due at the time of session. I accept payment via credit, HSA or FSA card. In the event you need to cancel your appointment, 48-hour notice on a business day is required to avoid being charged for the session.

  • Currently, I am seeing clients via telehealth (video) only. I practice in both Oregon and Minnesota, so you’ll need to be in one of those states during our sessions.

  • Please take a moment to reflect on your readiness to fully engage in the therapeutic process. It's important to consider your commitment before beginning this process. Unlike many mental health systems where clinicians often see a high volume of clients, leading to potential burnout and reduced effectiveness, I prefer to work with fewer clients. This allows me to provide more focused and dedicated care.

Because I invest deeply in each therapeutic relationship, I am selective about the clients I work with. I seek individuals who are committed to both their time and financial investment in therapy and are prepared to make meaningful changes. If you are genuinely ready and willing to engage fully in this journey, I am excited to work with you.

  • You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

    • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

    • Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

    • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

    • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059.
